An IT Thanksgiving Tale Fit For The Hallmark Channel.

As ASSI owner Tom Craig was roaring down the Bee Line in his turbo charged V16 F-SuperF-150 a thought occurred to him that brought a tear to his eye. You see, our reflective owner had just come back at nearly the speed of light from one of ASSI’s municipal clients where a near crisis was averted. Let’s just say the crisis involved a powered off server, a bit of moisture, a shower curtain, and potentially, what we thought, was some data loss. ASSI was called in to get everything up and running like a well oiled machine, which, thankfully, they were able to do. But that incident, that opportunity to save the day and keep a city functioning at full capacity was what brought that tear to Tom’s eye.

As he embraced the fast lane Tom’s memories ran through his mind like a Cher song. He remembered the days of floppy drives, he reminisced about his first Commodore 64, warm memories of pong and his very first dot matrix printer and print shop rushed before him. “Golly.” Tom thought. “We sure have come a long way.” Tom’s thoughts changed to panic as a State Trooper roared past him in the slow lane but quickly bounced back to his nostalgia as the trooper cruised into the rest stop.Just as Tom continued to step back into time in his mind, his trusty Android alerted him to an upcoming exist that he’ll have to navigate off to and drop under light speed to handle. “Wow. Just wow.” Another deep thought entered his mind. “There’s more technology and computing power in that tiny phone than there was in a mainframe of yesteryear.”

As Tom sat at traffic light after traffic light, he gazed up at a billboard. It simply had a well dressed man, a car lot, and two words. Thank You. “Thank You.” Tom thought. That’s so much nicer than a cheesy cut out check that two people with a mullet were awarded for their dirt bike accident from a local attorney. “Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.” Tom exclaimed.

This epiphany Tom had was one of gratitude. It was one of not taking things for gratitude. His racing mind ran through the many things he was grateful for. His wife, his success, his mom and dad, his turbo charged 16 cylinder SuperF-150, the 30 pound turkey he had just been able to purchase for Thanksgiving dinner, Cloud Based Solutions that keep all of his clients safe and sound and able to keep their businesses running, the chiming low fuel gadget sound… oh wait, Tom’s out of gas… Please hold…

As Tom filled up on 96 Octane, his mind went back to his gratitude list: “Tom…” he said out loud, “What else am I grateful for?” The list raced out of his mind just as quickly as the gas pump dollar amount soared. “I’m Thankful for sharing the costs of IT security with many others.”

“Thankful for not being responsible for the hardware and backup responsibility of all that data, Thankful that  in the event of an emergency, my company is still available, Thankful that these solutions are updated and patched with security updates without my intervention, Thankful that there are many third-party vendors who make backing up that cloud-based data easy.” Tom was indeed thankful. Thankful that ASSI can be so much to so many because of the technology that exists today. He finished up at the pump and strolled into the gas station humming a familiar Cher song in his head. He picked up a case of ice-cold mountain dew, paid the cashier and headed home for a Thanksgiving feast. It was a good day, a good day indeed.

Your company/organization and the people that you serve deserve peace of mind and that’s exactly what ASSI brings to the table (well, we also bring stuffing, turkey, cranberry sauce, those weird stuffed celery things that no one other than Odd Uncle Al likes, and gravy).
